Groups & Workshops

Leo & Una participating in group/workshop
Student Counseling Services offers a supportive and innovative environment for students to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with others experiencing similar life events through group counseling and workshops. This allows students to become engaged with one another and address their overall health and wellness, aiding their lifelong development as individuals as they integrate into their respective communities.

Group counseling is a unique opportunity available to students in need of a supportive, safe environment. Groups often cultivate moments in which students share, relate, and increase awareness. Groups meet for 45-minutes and oftentimes have 5-12 students participating with 1-2 group leaders.

Workshops are scheduled across campus throughout the semester and posted on this website, Campus Groups, and the . Similar to the group experience, SCS workshops explore topics relevant to student well-being through a psychoeducational approach (i.e. education about mental health conditions and coping strategies that increases mental health awareness and management).
NOTE: Appointments are not required for groups/workshops. All UNA students are invited to participate, regardless if they are receiving services or not.
