Congratulations on your decision to participate in UNA Early College!
Currently enrolled Early College students do not need to complete a new application*. Students applying for UNA Early College should complete the following steps:
- Complete the and select “UNA Early College (dual enrollment)” as your Student Type.
- 快猫视频 with your high school counselor to submit your official high school transcript and test scores. (Some courses, like English, Speech, and Math require .)
- Complete your within your MyUNA account. Click to view a list of courses available to Early College students.
- You will be registered for your Early College Course by a member of the UNA Admissions staff. Check your email for updates regarding your enrollment status.
Students are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible to ensure time for admission and registration. Click here to view academic calendars and registration deadlines.
*Currently enrolled Early College participants do not need to complete a new application. Students will need to complete an within their MyUNA account. However, if you participated in UNA Early College and have chosen not to enroll for two consecutive Fall/Spring semesters, you will need to via your existing MyUNA account.
Some courses (especially English, Math, or Speech) may require ACT/SAT scores or placement testing.
Students may sign up for a placement test via UNA Success Center or to ugalert@una.edu.
If you feel ready to take college-level coursework, the UNA Office of Admissions encourages you to complete an ACT test. While this is not a requirement, it is a positive first step in preparing for college level learning.
Requirements for students applying to UNA Early College:
- Students must have a minimum 3.00 unweighted GPA to participate in the UNA Early College Program.
- “C” average on UNA courses for continued participation in the UNA Early College program.
- Course requirements (specific ACT scores, high school courses, etc.) as listed in this catalog.
- Early College students (cohort and non-cohort) must meet the same prerequisite requirements for courses that are listed in the most current
- If a student does not meet the 3.0 GPA requirement, they may apply but will only be eligible to register for UNA 105.
How to Register for UNA Early College Courses
- Early College students do not self-register for classes.
- UNA places a registration hold on your account until you enroll as a full-time freshman.
- The Early College team handles registration after your course request is submitted.
If You Are Taking Online or On-Campus Courses:
- Each semester, log in to your MyUNA account.
- Submit the Early College Course Request Form.
- The Early College staff will:
- Review your request
- Register you for available courses based on eligibility and space
- Important: Courses are first come, first served, so submit your request early.
If You Are Taking Courses at Your High School (Cohort Courses):
- Do not submit the Course Request Form unless you are also taking an online course (see above).
- Talk to your high school counselor about which cohort courses you want to take.
- Your counselor will send your information to UNA Admissions for registration.
Ongoing Enrollment
- Once admitted, you can continue taking classes every semester without reapplying.
- If you skip more than two semesters in a row, you will need to reapply.
- For each semester you want to take online or on-campus classes:

Do I need ACT or SAT scores to apply?
No, you do not need test scores to apply to the Early College program.
Yes, you will need test scores to register for English, Math, or Speech courses.
Is my course registration guaranteed?
No, courses are not guaranteed. Registration depends on course availability and your eligibility.

How do I access my UNA Portal account?
Students will receive their UNA Portal log in information in their UNA Early College acceptance email. Use the email to log in, or click here to access the log in page and enter your credentials.

How do I access my course?
Once you are registered for your course, you will be notified via text and email. Use your UNA Portal information to access - UNA's online course assignment platform.
Why do I have a hold on my account?
Holds are placed on Early College student accounts to lock in course registrations.
How do I withdraw from a course?
In order to drop or withdraw from a class, students must discuss their course changes with their guidance counselor. Once the counselor has approved the withdrawal or course change information, students can email admissions@una.edu with the following information to begin the withdrawal/change process:
The high school counselor must provide the Early College student's full name, UNA ID number, and course name/section.
Please allow 24-48 hours for the request to be processed. Some exceptions may apply.
